More Fun

It has been a busy spring

On June 12, 2010 at 7:50 am Chase stepped from this life into the next. He fought a long hard battle but his weakened heart could fight no longer. But as he walked into glory he did not walk alone, unloved or unknown. He was accompanied by all our prayers and a heavenly host. We will miss him, but are glad his battle is done and that he is at rest.

Since our last newsletter we have had seven children adopted and seven new arrivals.

Congratulations are in order for Evan, Drew, Liam, Jesse, Khloe, Victoria and Adahlyn for having joined their forever families.

We are proud to welcome Jayce, Josiah, Nicholas, Angela, Zoe, Joel and Lucy Kate to our New Day family. We are excited for the opportunity to invest in their lives, giving them hope of a future.

Joshua, Julian, Hannah and Joel are on the road to recovery following surgery. Joel had spina bifida surgery and when we met with the doctors they said his MRI showed he also had a tumor on his spine. But when they did the surgery- the tumor was not there. So he only had to have spina bifida surgery. This is always exciting when a child’s surgery is much easier than expected.

ND South is moving along. Read the latest update and look at some pictures of the facility where the foster home will be.

We would like to make special mention of:
Scott Kellogg who is participating in the 2010 Louisville Ironman triathlon and racing for New Day Foster Home. Starting on August 26, The Ironman is a grueling 140.6-mile journey consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike, and a 26.4-mile run. All must be completed in 17 hours for athletes to earn the coveted title of Ironman.

Scott's wife Jenny says, "When he first thought about participating in the Janus Charity Challenge, he thought of the physical fight the children must endure for their health, and the emotional strength they display while awaiting a forever family. What better motivation to push him to finish the 12+ hour triathlon? While pushing his body to its limits, he will have much time to think, reflect, and pray. The kids, volunteers, and Foster Home staff will be there with him in spirit every step of the way."

Fun, more fun and creativity! There is never a dull moment at New Day Foster Home.

From all the staff and children at New Day
