Newsletter - Bejing | ND North

Seasons Greetings!

This is the time of year we remember the one who lived and gave up his life for us. He left us with the example that it is more blessed to give then to receive.

This is the time of year when families get together and enjoy special times making memories that last for a life time. Thanks to friends like you we are making it possible for children who do not have families to get the medical treatment that they need and find a family of their very own.

Since our last newsletter six children have joined their forever families and are celebrating their first Christmas with them. Shane, Sophia, Gene, Nathan, Lydia, and Samuel are all adjusting well with their new parents. Samuel still has a long road ahead and is scheduled for a complicated heart surgery. Please remember him and his parents during this time.

We are happy to welcome Emily, Camille, Savannah, Simon and Jeremy to the New Day family. When Jeremy first arrived we thought he only had one medical condition (umbilical polyp ¨C a rare condition) as it turns out upon further tests he has a congenital heart disease, hypospadia and lung deformity - this poor little boy will need to undergo at least 3 more surgeries.

Adahlyn and Lucas have had heart surgery and are recovering well. The above mentioned Jeremy had a complicated, but successful surgery to remove the umbilical polyp. This week he had lung surgery. After a six month wait for a bed, Jeff has just had hypospadia surgery and is recovering well. Thank you to all who have given to make these surgeries possible.

The children have been busy having fun! November they celebrated Thanksgiving and this month they have been decorating for Christmas. Visit the website and see pictures of the kids making Christmas cookies and having fun at their Christmas party. Thanks to all who donated items to make this Christmas special for the children.

This is also the time of year when we look back with gratitude on all the blessings of 2006. It's truly been a good year. 23 children have been adopted and 19 had life changing surgeries. We cannot express how delighted we have been by the success of the formula projects in Hohhot and Taiyuan. They continue to go well and more then 70 children in the program have experienced amazing improvement.

As we look forward to 2007 we anticipate the opportunities and the blessing it will be to help more children. It really is true that it is more blessed to give then to receive!
