New Day South IS MOVING!

We are in the process of moving to a new facility only 10 minutes away from the best and largest children’s hospital in south China. While we are no longer able to continue providing longer-term foster care, there are still many children in need of medical intervention.

From our new location, we will focus on providing surgeries and supporting our partner orphanages in securing the best medical care possible. We are also exploring other ways to help as we continue to adapt to the new environment here in this region.

While we will certainly miss not being able to share in the children's day-to-day lives but we will be able to help more children in their journey to life, health and family.

CATHERINE

In our last newsletter we told you Catherine’s story. Her story continues to be written. Initially surgeons refused to do her heart surgery because they said there was too much heart damage and it was too high risk. After consulting with a surgeon in the USA they finally agreed but told us that they could not guarantee she would survive the surgery and if she did it would be a very long recovery. We are happy to report she not only survived the surgery, but also has been recovering very quickly. Less than 24 hours after the surgery she was awake and off the ventilator. The next day she was eating and instead of a month in ICU, as they had said, she was out in 4 days. Join in celebrating this miracle of life with us.

Such a nice word to be able to say. Join us in celebrating Josiah, Merrijo, Ari, Cassie, Milo and Matthew no longer being lonely but having a family, hope and a bright future.

ARRIVALS

We are happy to announce the arrival of Maggie, Anna, Abner and Charlie. We still have a couple of beds open so stay tuned as more arrive over the next couple of weeks.

And there is MORE TO CELEBRATE- May and June have been very busy with many things to celebrate. Events like Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, Dragon Boat Festival, our wonderful Chinese sponsors and foreign volunteers. Check out the scrapbooks for each.
