June 2009

Dear Friends,
Please let me introduce this month’s new arrivals. We have Ajay (heart disease & hernia), Logan (heart disease), Camille (spina bifida), Cora (heart disease) and Claire (lung & esophageal issues and heart disease).

I would like to make special mention of Claire. We really thought we had lost her. We were called into the hospital late one night, sat down by the doctors and told that we should prepare for her passing. However your prayers did it again and she miraculously pulled through and is now expected to make a full recovery.

There is also Emily, who is five years old going six. She has been with us long enough to see many of her fellow housemates get adopted. The more this happened the more she began to inquire about when her parents would be coming. Since she was not matched there was no answer to that question. As more time passed, she began to ask, “What’s wrong with me?” She would say things like, “I know my colors, I know how to count to 10 in Chinese and English, I’m cute. Why doesn’t anyone want me?” Well, you can imagine how this touched our hearts and also how excited we all were when we finally got word that Emily was matched. Her parents will soon be coming to get their precious daughter and what a special gift they will receive.

Good news! This month Wendel, Brett and Gracie were adopted and 11 more children are matched.

As for surgeries this time around, Lucy and Rosie both had brain taps. They will be observed the next month to see if they will need a brain shunt. Daniel, Claire and Liam all had successful surgeries as well.

Summer is here and there is much fun to be had. Here is a list of some of the cool things that the kids have been doing.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
