Adoptions
We have had 24 adoptions so far this year. Each has been a special moment and a time for celebration. Children arrive sick and some not expected to live but often a miracle happens.

There is Claire who doctors said they had done everything possible for her and didn’t know what more to do. From their perspective she was not expected to live. But against all odds she proved everyone wrong and a month ago her dream was fulfilled when she left to join her very own family.

We have hit another mile stone, this weekend adoption number 200, 201 and 202 left to join their forever families. Congratulations Cora, Evie and Alex!

We would also like to welcome to our new arrivals this month. Lewis, Stella, Asher, Sylvia, Matthew, Leila and Daphne.

The weather forecast for July 26, 2012 gave a 90% chance of rain. Flooding was expected and our hearts were in our throats as Annabel was disconnected from the IV nutrition and oxygen that had sustained her life for two months and carried into the car that would drive her the six hours from her orphanage to the hospital in Beijing...

And mourn with us
On August 23rd as Lydia, our miracle baby, was being escorted by two of our staff from ICU to regular ward, Grace and I were escorting James from the same ICU to the morgue. Celebration and mourning on the same day. James was not with us long but we have no regrets and would do it again in a heart beat. It was a privilege to be praying for him as he stepped into glory.

On September 27th we once again mourned as Dale passed away. We were thankful we could give him a chance and that he was not alone as he left this earth. He was loved and will not be forgotten. It is always hard but we will continue to battle and give each child entrusted to us every opportunity we possibly can.

Finally, seven children had surgery the past two months and Lydia continues to hold the record with four surgeries in four months.
