Adoptions
2013 is off to a good start! There are 19 children who have been matched with their forever families. Two of these, Xander & Sophie, have already left to join their forever families. We are excited that each of them will get to experience the joy of being part of a family.

New arrivals
We are happy to welcome Corrie, Chris, Hayden and Dani to our New Day family and have a sense of excitement as we get to watch the transformations they will make over the coming months.

Fire and repercussions
Earlier this month there was a fatal fire in a foster home in southern China.This fire has had significant repercussions for many children who were out in foster organizations such as ours. A number of orphanages have required that all their children to be returned to their facility. Fortunately these new policies affected us only slightly. A number of children living with our foster families had to be brought back to our main facility and three children had to return to their orphanage. We are thankful that the majority of the children have been allowed to remain with us and not have their little lives disrupted.

Surgeries
Colton’s second heart surgery was successful. Charlotte and Hayden both had GI surgeries.

New projects
We are looking to begin two new projects in northern China. These have been in the works for a good while. Stay tuned as things develop. It should be rewarding.

Amazing stories
We love when amazing stories happen and would like to share two with you.

Anna Rose- “None of the doctors wanted to perform her surgery,” said the nanny who lived with Anna Rose for the month she waited in the hospital for surgery, “they were all scared.” Read more about her story.

Maya- The miracles continue in this little ones life. So many ifs… all with a happy ending.

Snow
We have had a lot of snow this year. It is wonderful to see everything white and sparkling instead of brown and gray. The children have enjoyed their times of playing in the snow- snowball fights, making snowmen, making snow castles and lots more.

Therapists visit
Thank you Grace Foundation for coming, for training, for loving our children. We are so thankful for each and every volunteer, intern and team that come and invest of themselves in the children’s lives.

Chinese New Year
This time of year is always a special time for family. Over the next week you will want to visit the website as we post pictures of all the decorating, jiaozi party and performances.
