First let me introduce to you our new arrivals and their special needs. We have Ethan with hypospadia, Tristan, Gracie and Polly all are heart babies.

In the recently completed successful surgery department we have Chunli with a corrected cleft lip. We also have Meijuan who had a minor cleft lip and palate defect and a minor heart condition. Those two minors equaled a major and the hospital in her local province could not do the surgery. We brought her to Beijing were she had the surgery and after a recovery period she returned to her province. She was the first Healing Home candidate to complete surgery and return home. Xiao Xue, a little older (she’s 17), came to us with a fairly serious heart condition. The surgery went well and she will be returning to her province later this month - just as soon as she gets her 3 month checkup. Then there is Liam who had brain surgery and finally Gracie who had heart surgery.

Major milestone! Ben became our 100th child adopted. Also leaving this time around because of adoption was Jacob, Sarah and Camille.

Elise has finally returned to us after spending two months in the hospital in Hong Kong. While she was there she spent 7 weeks in a body cast. Her hips healed well and her bladder is already holding urine. The Hong Kong surgeons were all extremely excited with the results of her surgery. While she was there Elise stole the hearts of many folks and has returned to Beijing with lots of new Hong Kong friends.

Special note
We want to make special note of a couple of boys that recently joined our Hohhot foster program. These two have grabbed our heart in a special way. Sam was five when he was abandoned at the gate of a local hospital. He had no medical issues. He was old enough to tell the police his name and age. Daniel was found abandoned on the train when he was 7 years old. He also has no medical issues. It is hard to imagine what they must feel.

Both of these boys need a family and the orphanage has agreed to do their adoption papers if a family comes forward for them.

In Tibet: We consider it a rare privilege to able to provide 24/7 care for 14 orphans ages 4 to 7 years old. For the first time they have the opportunity to go to school – something that most kids in their situation cannot do. We have a house and are currently preparing it to be home for these precious children. If you would like more information about this amazing project please send me an email.
