Spending some time in a strawberry patch is a sure reminder that summer is just around the corner. In our village, there are many greenhouses that grow all sorts of vegetables for people all around Beijing. So we're in the perfect location for all sorts of yummy treats! But this time of year, the greenhouses have strawberry patches, and one kind greenhouse owner allowed our kids to pick - and eat! - all they could for a very reasonable price. So we came home with juice-stained faces and boxes of plump red strawberries. It was the perfect way to kick off springtime!
