On Christmas Day, while people on the other side of the world were exchanging gifts, doctors were working hard trying to save a precious little girl. They did all that they could, but in the early hours of December 26, her short life ended.

Marsha's life was short, but it was valuable. Worth the cost of her GI surgery and long stay in the ICU, worth the tender, round-the-clock care given by her nannies in our critical care unit. It was a privilege to care for her.

We spent the five weeks that she lived here at New Day South hoping that her little body would gain weight and strength. We hoped that we would get to see her grow and blossom, and one day leave us to join her forever family. Instead, Marsha has gone straight into the arms of her Forever Father, and we know that there she is safe and loved.

The memory of Marsha's life will be cherished, especially at Christmas-time. We are thankful for the gift of her time here with us, even though we are sad that it ended too soon.
