Jia Cheng was only in our care for a few hours but that was all it took for us to fall in love with him. From the moment we heard his name, from the moment we saw his face he became implanted in our hearts.

Loving Jia Cheng was risky, but it was also full of hope. As we heard that a liver was available and he was a match hope spread. We anticipated a bright future for this sweet boy. We celebrated when the surgery was successful and fell to our knees along with people all over the world when we heard that he was fighting for his life.

Jia Cheng’s fight didn’t end as we hoped. But, it did end in complete healing as he rests in the arms of the Father.

Jia Cheng isn’t another statistic that will soon be forgotten. He is loved and he is known. He will be remembered and we will keep fighting for the least of these. We will always choose hope, even in the riskiest situations.
