Name: Liam
Birthdate: April 12, 2008

Liam was born on April 12, 2008 and abandoned on a busy sidewalk a month later. He has a complex and very serious heart disease (TGA, VSD, PDA, and a narrow pulmonary artery and valve). The local hospital was unable to do his surgery, so his orphanage asked us to help him. The surgeries he needs are complex and dangerous, but without treatment, he would not survive. He came to New Day Foster Home on July 18, 2008. On September 2, 2008, Liam had his first heart surgery, placing a shunt to help his heart grow stronger in preparation for the more complicated surgeries he needs. We hope that his treatment goes smoothly and his recovery is quick, for we can't wait to see what his life holds!

Liam says goodbye to all of the wonderful women who helped nurse him back to health. The nursing team at Fu Wai Cardiology Hospital is incredible, and it is in no small part due to their kind and compassionate care that so many of our children make such incredible recoveries.
