Year-End Update and Appeal ..
http://www.newdaysouth.com

Dear Friends,

When we last wrote, we were in the middle of a crisis that affected not only us, but all private foster care in our province of China (see prior newsletter.)

At the time, our immediate concern was for Sawyer and Maya, both of whom would be put at risk if they left our care. Working closely (and creatively!) with our partner orphanages, a way was found to continue helping these little ones. And as you can see below, both are still with us and doing well!

Maya (far left) and Sawyer - who has really
embraced his 'big brother' role at the foster home

We are continuing to receive a limited number of new children in need of critical medical care not available in their rural orphanage cities. We have moved to a smaller location near the regional children's hospital to facilitate our increased medical focus.

Vietnam!
While doing all we can to continue our work here in south China, we have also been busy in recent months developing a new program a bit further south in the neighboring country of Vietnam.

Our initial efforts have focused mostly on helping children in very poor families in need of heart surgery. We are actively pursuing options and in discussions now on how we can best make a difference in this "new place."

Thank you so much for standing with us during this challenging time! Through your continued giving and support, we have been able to meet every need and continue our mission of "bringing hope to the hopeless."

Gratefully,

Doug Bush and the New Day South Team

Zoe
Our newest baby, Zoe, came to us at one month of age.  We are doing all we can to help her grow strong and gain weight now so she can be ready for surgery early next year.

Tong Tong & Feng
These little sweethearts arrived in June and July and have already had successful surgeries.  (Tong Tong will need more surgery next year.)

Did you know?
Child sponsorships are the primary way we meet our monthly operating expenses.  Sponsors receive a monthly update with photos of all the children in our care.
