Bringing a new day to a new place..

Spring 2013 Update

We are excited to announce that we just leased a 2nd large apartment, allowing us to bring in more children in need of medical care and assistance here in south China. While recent adoptions had given us a bit of breathing room, we soon found ourselves once again in the position of having a "full house" and not able to respond to the need we continue to encounter in our partner orphanages. Although we have always followed a policy of careful and steady incremental growth, we all felt that the time was right to take this next step for New Day South.

This new apartment is in the same building and has the same layout as our existing facility, thus making for an easy and efficient expansion. We will now have the capacity to grow to over 20 children in our current location in addition to having much needed space for an expanded preschool.

We are now in the process of getting the facility ready to house new children. We have been heartened by the response of local friends who have already stepped forward to help. Over the next several weeks we will be outfitting the apartment by buying furniture, air conditioners, baby beds, storage units, kitchen equipment and supply, and more.

We are so grateful for the continuing generosity of our friends and supporters around the world, without which this work would not be possible. We are encouraged by the good things happening in the lives of the children in our care but at the same time challenged by the need we see in the lives of so many others. Thank you for joining with us to help make a difference in the lives of these oh-so-precious little ones!
